Mia Hope went from a career in Animal Control and Sheltering to a stay-at-home mom of (now) 4 children when she and her husband moved an hour outside Portland, OR to their dream farm in the country.  What's a busy mom who's used to working and managing animal care and husbandry to do?  She started a hobby flock of chicken, eventually came to own a few Russian Orloff and fell in love.  Her love for the Russian Orloff led her to start work on her own line and now, making that line available to the public.  She also breeds Black Mottled Turkey, a heritage breed with social personalities.  Mia focuses on breeding birds that meet the Standard of Perfection , culling heavily, and showing in poultry shows for constructive criticism.  She is a Founding Member of The Russian Orloff Society of USA & Canada, and currently serving her second term on their Board of Directors as Secretary.  Mia is also a member in good standing with the Pacific Northwest Poultry Association and the American Poultry Association.  High Hopes Farm & Russian Orloff participates in the NPIP program and is Salmonella Pullorum/Typhoid clean and AI free #91-194.
